1. Down to Earth

This essence works on opening up the first chakra - the root chakra. It helps us to feel our connection with the Earth and all that it implies. It helps us embrace fully and with celebration our manifestation in a physical form – as a crystallisation of energy.

Our body is from the Earth. It is the Earth which nourishes us. The Earth is our playground and to fully experience ourselves as a life form on the Earth; we must, like a tree, have our roots deep within the earth. The first chakra deals with issues of survival - our fears of not being safe or able to survive in the world. These fears, often carried within us from the moment of the birth process itself; weaken our connection with the Earth, and also weaken our connection with our sex energy - which is the basic energy, the raw material, with which we have to work with.

This energy is the source of our physical existence and its primary object in nature is to propagate the species. However, this primal energy can also be turned within and used as a vehicle for self transformation, for self discovery; to explore the inner world of the chakras. As the energy moves upwards towards the crown chakra, it becomes more refined and delicate, opening up and triggering these subtle realms and all their various manifestations.

The sex energy, our raw material is a wild fire, volcanic and unpredictable. We need to embrace this in all its aspects - to feel at home with ourselves, our bodies and our ability to celebrate and feel at home on this Earth. "Down To Earth" helps us tune in to and accept all aspects of this energy, and release any blockages that hinder the free flow of this vital and wonderful energy.
