Helps us ground and ener­gize the lower chakras; brings sta­bility, pro­tec­tion and con­tain­ment for the second chakra; helps us become more aware of the energy and infor­ma­tion we are sending and receiving at this level, so we can adjust our bound­aries accordingly.

This essence restores emo­tional and sexual integrity when the expres­sion of these has been com­pro­mised or mis­aligned by emo­tional pain and trauma. It is good for those who are always feeling vul­ner­able and reac­tive to every­thing that is going on around them and as a result may feel vic­tim­ized by their circumstances.

We often deal with this kind of pain and trauma by expanding beyond our normal bound­aries, which may not have been that func­tional to begin with. Being in this over-expanded state is exhausting and the longer it con­tinues, the more vul­ner­able we feel.

It is dif­fi­cult to repair our bound­aries, and build up the capacity to con­tain our emo­tional energy, when we spend most of our focus and effort just dealing with what is coming in and mon­i­toring our reac­tions to it. Red Quartz brings strength to the lower chakras and helps us con­tract our ener­getic bound­aries. This enables us to relax, calm down and create a buffer of neu­trality. From this neu­tral place we can learn to nur­ture a non-reactive response or choose to not respond at all, depending on the dynamics of our situation.

The lesson of this essence is that we cannot expect con­di­tions out­side of us to pro­vide the safety and emo­tional sta­bility we need. Nor can we find safety in another person if we don’t feel it inside of our­selves. Red Quartz reminds us of what it feels like to be safe and secure in our phys­ical bodies. As we strengthen these qual­i­ties within they will be mir­rored more strongly by our sur­round­ings and by those we attract to us.
